She Moves!

Ellie started crawling this week - May 2 (early in the morning) was the big day.

I have a video of her crawling across the bed and back on May 2, but have to figure out where to host it to put it up. At the time we were trying to get her to sleep, but I guess the whole family does its best work at night. :) She crawled from Roger's side of the bed across to the crib, examined some toys in the crib, and then turned around and came back! I was especially impressed that she turned so well, and it showed that she was really purposeful and knew what she wanted and how to get there.

My time since has been dominated by trying to keep her out of trouble. She doesn't go too fast consistently, but just when you're not ready, she can go really fast! I first discovered this by putting a pbj sandwich on the ground about a foot and a half from her and then went to the kitchen to get some milk to have my lunch on the floor next to her. Back around the corner a few seconds later she was already grabbing the plate! Same thing happened last night at dinner as Roger and I ate on the floor next to her. We had to keep moving the plates and glasses around to keep our food safe. The only other thing she moves this fast for is the cell phone - her favorite toy.

I'd better get back to babyproofing~
